Is 2 Ingredient Dough Weight Watchers-friendly?

I don’t know where the recipe for 2 Ingredient Dough originated. I got it from a friend who isn’t on Weight Watchers. However, I know a lot of people who are on WW use two ingredient dough because an entire batch of 2 Ingredient Dough is only 12 WW Freestyle points.

If you are considering Weight Watchers, check out our 9 Tips For Getting Started On Weight Watchers post.

Do you have to use non-fat Greek yogurt in 2 Ingredient Dough?

The aforementioned Weight Watchers points are if you use non-fat Greek yogurt. Since most people on Weight Watchers are concerned with WW points, they prefer to use the lower point non-fat Greek yogurt to make 2 Ingredient Dough.

If you want to use full fat Greek yogurt to make your 2 Ingredient Dough you can. Just note that the WW points won’t be the same.

If you’re not concerned about Weight Watchers, then non-fat or full-fat Greek yogurt will both work. And, actually, you can substitute sour cream for the Greek yogurt portion and it works as well.

This 2 Ingredient Dough Pizza is exactly the opposite. The dough doesn’t have to rest at all, and you can make the pizza so quickly, making this the perfect weeknight meal.

How long will 2 ingredient dough last in the fridge? ›

The dough will last 3 days refrigerated or 1 month frozen. So double up on the recipe and have it ready for whenever you need some dinner rolls. Whether you've stored the dough in the freezer or fridge, let it slowly warm up on the counter to room temperature, still wrapped, before using it.

What happens if you don't refrigerate dough before baking? ›

Popping your dough in the fridge allows the fats to cool. As a result, the cookies will expand more slowly, holding onto their texture. If you skip the chilling step, you're more likely to wind up with flat, sad disks instead of lovely, chewy cookies. Cookies made from chilled dough are also much more flavorful.

Is self-rising flour the same as all-purpose? ›

While it's similar to all-purpose flour, self-raising flour isn't as rich in protein as all-purpose flour. Also like all-purpose flour, self-rising flour is enriched with added nutrition. After the first rise, you would normally knead the dough again. However, if you find your dough is too sticky at this point, do not knead it again. Instead, gently press and deflate the dough. You can also use a light coating of flour on your hands and working surface to press and stretch the dough.

Does proofing dough make it less sticky? ›

In the end, I find little difference if the dough is proofed in the refrigerator between 10 to 16 hours or so. However, if you find a dough that's sticky, slack, and spreads excessively when baking, it has likely overproofed and needs a reduction in the total fermentation time.

What does it mean for dough to be tacky? ›

TACKY: Although pressing your hand on the dough is still causing it to stick, it easily releases without leaving much if any dough on your hand. Be careful not to go too far, a little sticky is good, you do not usually want it to be completely non-sticky. That would mean your dough is too dry.

Knead in more flour.

Check whether the dough is sticky to the touch. If so, this is probably under-kneaded dough. Knead in additional flour until smooth and silky to the touch and the dough no longer sticks to your hand. Let rest and rise in a warm wet environment.
