LORETTO, Pa. –Saint Francis University men's soccer announced its schedule for the 2024 season on Wednesday.

Their defense of their NEC regular season crown features 15regular season matchesfrom Aug. 22 to Nov. 7. Saint Francis will play five home games and 10 away games in 2024. The Red Flash will also host Duquesne in a preseason match on Aug. 17 at 2:00 p.m.,

"It is simple,we want to compete with the best to become the best version of ourselves and toget better." head coach Mads Kaiser said. "We are fortunate to have a few of those opportunities against some of the best teams in the region and country on our schedule this fall. While we respect the challenges, each game on that stage will prepare us for the NEC and the playoffs in November."

Saint Francis will kick off their 2024 campaign when they head up to New York to play St. Bonaventure on Aug. 22 at 6:00 p.m. TheBonnies finished 11th in the Atlantic 10 Conference in2023 with an overall record of 6-7-4.

Just four days later, on Aug. 26, the Red Flash head to Morgantown, W. Va., for a high-profile matchup with the Mountaineers of West Virginia at 7:00 p.m. The Mountaineers are coming off an excellent year. They finished 17-3-4 and were runners up in the Sun Belt Conference tournament. Their efforts were good enough to earn them the fifth overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. West Virginia made it all the way to the Final Four before falling to the eventual national champions, Clemson.

The Red Flash hold their home opener on Sep. 1when Wright State comes to town for a 1:00 p.m. matchup. The Raiders went 4-9-5 in 2023 and finished sixth in the Horizon League. They fell to IUPUI by a score of 1-0 inthe Horizon League quarterfinals

Saint Francis will be back on the road just three days later when they square off against former NEC rival Robert Morris at 4:00 p.m., The Colonials finished 2023 with a 5-6-5 overall record, earning them a seventh place finish in the Horizon League.

The Red Flash will travel east on Sep. 7 for an in-state clash with Bucknell. The match will kick off at 7:00 p.m. The Bison finished 10th in the Patriot League table last season with an overall record of 2-10-4.

A week later, the Red Flash will make their second trip to Upstate New York for a 3:00 p.m. match against Canisius in Buffalo, N.Y., The Golden Griffins finished 2-11-5 in 2023, earning them 11th place in the MAAC.

On Sep. 23 at 7:00 p.m., Saint Franciswill conclude their non-conferenceschedule with their second fixture against a nationally renowned program in Akron. The Zips have made the NCAA tournament 19 timessince 2001. Akronwent 9-2-7 in 2023 and finished third in Midwest Division of the Big East. The Zips lost to Xavier in the Big East quarterfinals.

The Red Flash finally return home on Sep. 29 to open up their conference slate against Stonehill at 2:00 p.m., The Skyhawks finished seventhin the NEC in 2023 with an overall record of 3-8-5 and a conference record of 1-4-3. They ended up just three points shy of the final NEC Tournament spot.

Saint Francis hits the road again On Oct. 6 to meet the defending NEC Tournament champions, LIU.That match will kick off at 3:00 p.m., The Sharks finished one point behind the Red Flash in the regular season table. They went 10-6-3 overall and 5-1-2 in the NEC. LIU defeated Fairleigh Dickinson and Sacred Heart en route to their sixth conference title, but they would lose 2-1 to Denver in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Red Flash will then head west to Erie, Pa., on Oct. 10 for a matchup with NEC newcomers Mercyhurst at 5:00 p.m., The Lakers went 14-3-1 overall in their final season as a Division II program, earning them a second place finish in the PSAC West.

Three days later, Saint Francis returns home to host Howard on Oct. 13 at 2:00 p.m., The Bison finished ninth in the NEC in 2023 with an overall record of 2-13-1 and a 1-7 conference record.

On Oct. 20 at noon, the Red Flash host another NEC newcomer in Chicago State. The Cougars went 5-10-4 last season and finished fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference. They would fall to Lindenwood in the OVC quarterfinal.

A week later, Saint Francis heads up to New Britain, Conn., for a clash with CCSU. The Blue Devils finished eighth in the NEC last season with an overall record of 3-9-3 and a conference record of 1-4-3. They finished only three points shy of the final NEC Tournament spot.

On Nov. 3 at 2:00 p.m., the Red Flash host Le Moyne in their final home game of the 2024 regular season. The Dolphins qualified for the NEC Tournament in their debut campaign at the Division I level by finishing sixth in the NEC. They went 2-8-7 overall and 2-3-3 in conference.

Saint Francis wraps up their 2024 regular season when they head to the Garden State for a matchup with Fairleigh Dickinson on Nov. 7. The Knights finished thirdin the NEC last year with an 8-5-5 overall record and 4-1-3 record in conference.

If the Red Flash qualify for the NEC Tournament, they would play in the quarterfinals on Nov. 10. The semifinals and finals are on Nov. 14 and Nov. 17 respectively if they were to advance to those rounds.
