Great article by Multi-Housing News and Tia Boatman Patterson, Esq. on housing the missing middle. I would have loved it to have included the need to incentivize a #mixedincome housing model. Providing the ability for people to see and imitate, in real-time, personal and economic mobility should be considered a critical tool in solving the #housingcrisis, building resilience, and breaking the cycle of poverty. And yes, we need the data. If you believe in any part that one must "see it to be it," then certainly we can agree that if one sees a pathway to housing independence and economic self-reliance, one can also imitate it and share it. #affordablehousing #missingmiddle #mixedincom #housingforall #bethechange #domore

Thank you to Friends of Residential Treasures LA (FORT LA) and Frances Anderton for the invitation to participate in a robust conversation entitled, "ED-1:Friends or Foe" over the weekend. The 8-person panel provided so many viewpoints, and the standing-room-only crowd was gracious enough to consider them all. The verdict: Applause to Mayor Karen Bass for adding another tool to the toolbox. ED-1 is not a panacea, but it is a start. Several great ideas and cautionary input from labor, for-profit and non-profit developers, architects, and advocates were shared: More collaboration, more outreach to policymakers across the state and country, and more sources of capital. Can you believe that week has already passed since the Housing California conference?
